Our kids are the future of our rivers and outdoor sports. Give them fun gear that makes them feel like they belong!
The next generation of river runners is out there right now figuring out their first ferry angles, flipping in slow water, sharing a floating picnic with their hippo dragbags, and deciding whether rivers are worth fighting for. That decision gets made young. Every kid who falls in love with moving water is one more person who'll show up when it matters. For the cleanup, the comment period, and at the put-in twenty years from now with their own boat on their car. If there's a young boater in your life, get them out there and give them gear that makes them feel they belong. Woo them with the fun stuff! We adults would do well to take a page out of that book, anyway!
