Indigenous Land Recognition
At Megafauna, we recognize that we live, work, and play on the ancestral and current homelands of the Hopitutskwa, Diné, Ute, Hualapi, Southern Paiute, and Zuni peoples. We recognize that their territories were forcibly taken by violence and/or deceit. Around the globe, we recognize all indigenous peoples as the traditional custodians of our planet.
We recognize these peoples' continued oppression. We recognize their resilience and living cultures. We recognize that this acknowledgement is no substitute for informed action. We recognize that colonialism is an ongoing process.
We hope that Megafauna can be part of remembering, reconciling, and repairing the story of indigenous oppression in the Four Corners, United States, and planet Earth.
